I went through the door to “Silent HNL” once. It was a nice vacation and all, but I didn’t feel I needed a tattoo to memorialize Gate 17.

A great deal of disturbing going on here. This is either a back tat on a gender nonspecific human who has their arms on backwards or they have no naval.

Actually I think this one may be fake. That has to be CGI, otherwise it would have features such as a belly button and a chest.
china girl thinks that is a dickhead at the bottom, calling this a belly tat. no belly button, no nipples. china girl is never wrong, so that is a dickhead at the bottom. (the arms ARE on backwards, though).

The Silent Hill part looks like it was written with an Etch-a-Sketch!
This appears to be a “male” chest, photographed just below the nipples and just above the belly button (there is a hand at the bottom that is either pulling the skin down or covering the belly button). There is hair that is visible around the shaved area. All of the skin around the writing and design is pink from the fresh tat… I don’t see any reason to think this is fake. It’s clearly been taken from an odd angle, apparently by the “artist” *cough cough* and the darkness and angle of the arms would support that the photo is awkward at best. (Please also note the shading that indicates a sternum. This is clearly not a *well-developed* chest.)
It could be that it is a woman’s back, bit she is being hugged from in front by another person, whose arms we can see.
That, or they have a really long body and we can’t see their nipples, and they are covering their belly button…
Still an ugly tattoo no matter where it’s situated.
I laugh when I see the tattoo pics wherein the skin is still red from the procedure. I imagine that the only reason they’re taking a picture is for evidence when they sue the “artist”.

That wouldn’t explain the hair. Or maybe it would, in that if this is a woman she is some strange scientifically created hermaphroditic combination. Hence the lack of belly button and nipples.
i wonder what’s gonna happen when this guy find a new favorite video game and gets bored with Silent Hill.

LOL, I’m glad I’m not the only one confused. I stared at this thing for like, 14 minutes trying to figure out what I was looking at.
Looks like a Xerox scan of someone’s back. Though, probably just a poor quality photo with light flash? Yet the body looks pressed against glass… esp. the elbows… which might make it look like the inner arm crease.
I first saw elbows, and thought it was the back of the person. Yet when I read other comments, I could see how it could look like the front side… as if by influence. But I still hold with my first impression.

Without defending this monstrously ugly tattoo, people who are Silent Hill fans are very dedicated. I know of many people (myself included) who openly say that their lives have been touched by the series and has helped them deal with issues like suicidal ideation and depression. Some people can be touched and moved and forever changed by a video game just as much as someone can from a novel, film, or television series. One wouldn’t question my friend who just got a tattoo that says “Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt” saying that maybe she’ll get a new favorite book and be bored of Slaughter-House Five. It can be far far beyond their “current favorite video game.”

You can see the hand at the bottom like jennifer said with a belly button under it, and at the tops of the peaks in the tattoo, you can see a nipple on the left side… it just looks like it was tattooed over?! haha great artist!! hahahaha
It could be over the nipple, but I don’t think so. I think this is a relatively tall (but scrawny) boy and that it’s not up to his nipples yet. I feel overly confident that it’s a boy’s torso, though.
According to the listed source (Tattoodesign-ideas), this is a back tattoo. The elbows just look odd because this person has his hands clasped behind him.
That may be what the linked site says (and in actuality, it’s listed under “21 of the Ugliest Tattoos Ever” — NOT specifically “back”) — http://tattoodesign-ideas.blogspot.com/2008/11/21-of-ugliest-tattoos-ever.html …BUT, many of the pictures are of other body parts, not backs. So there’s no reason to think that this would HAVE to be a back. And besides, that’s a site that thinks TRIBALS are “great”, among other things. After reading THAT, I can’t believe *anything* they say.
No way are these arms “clasped behind”. The bending just wouldn’t make sense. Go stand in front of a mirror (facing toward and then facing away) and try to mimic this. I stand by my assessment.
I don’t think it’s that bad of a tattoo…could’ve been worse :-\ maybe because I’m a Silent Hill fan myself. Heck, I’d have a small Pyramid Head on my arm.
The Pyramid Heads look more like inkblots.
It could have been much worse. It’s really not a bad tattoo, but it did take me a while to figure out the sides were Pyramid Head.

I think this is a back tat photo taken in a mirror, by the person with the tattoo. So understandably an awkward shot.
